Hi folks,
An Hist 011, World History II, class is doing an assignment for which they have to look in a couple of newspapers for a specific historical event, such as the 1929 stock market crash or America's entry into World War I. I've been pointing them to the New York Times Historical and the Times of London digital archives. One student I helped said he needed an international newspaper. Also, don't forget about using Microfinder to locate which microfilm newspaper titles are available for the time period they want.
The assignment is due Tuesday, May 1st. I had two students already. There are likely going to be more and they are required to have a copy of the articles on which they are basing their assignment, so lots of work for the machines, too.
If I can get more information, I'll pass it along.
Stay tuned
, Lisa
Today someone called from the University Park campus for assistance with The Patriot, the newspaper from Harrisburg. She will be in sometime soon to look up an article from February 15, 2006; the microfilm call number is E17. She will probably have this information when she comes in, but here it is in case.

Looking for Census film and can not find it? Please check the cart(s) in the workroom.
(We are in the process of changing the census film to LC classification, itemizing each reel and giving them new labels/boxes)
Apparently we have run out of the Out Of Order slips for Nittany Office repairs.
